HSS sponsors The Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards

Hogg, Shain & Scheck are proud to be gold level supporters of The Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards, which were held April 24, 2017 at the Telus Centre’s Koerner Hall.

HSS aims to recognize the achievements of Canadian screenwriters and the local theatre community in their accomplishments within Canada and Toronto, respectively.

The WGC Screenwriting Awards gala celebrated the 21st year where the WGC honoured Canadian screenwriters and their work. Nominations were given to scripts categorized in documentaries, feature films, TV comedies, TV dramas, teens and children and many more.

This gala was also the first year the Writers Block Award was renamed the Denis McGrath Award for service to the WGC. Denis McGrath passed away earlier this year and was a major contributor to the guild, he previously won the award in 2015.
