HSS at DRIVEN 2018 with the Ontario Non Profit Network

Hogg, Shain & Scheck (HSS) attended Nonprofit Driven 2018 on October 10 – 11th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. In its fifth year, the event brought numerous not-for-profit industry professionals together under one roof. Over 500 attendees, more than any other year before, gathered to connect, learn and drive a change.

The conference was a great success with valuable advice and knowledge offered. The first day focused on enhancing personal skills as a leader for better organizational performance and the second day was dedicated to a wider not-for-profit sector with trends and tactics. We have learned about various approaches to current sector issues and how we can work together to create strategies to eliminate them in the future. Some key areas that we were interested to hear about included the new pension program available for not-for-profits, how the not-for-profit model is changing and advice regarding governance and policy initiatives for a variety of sector executives.

On the second day of the event, we hosted a booth where we enjoyed seeing existing clients, networking with amazing not-for-profit professionals and enthusiasts, and learning more about the sector from such a passionate community. We were also delighted to meet the other sponsors and know more about such organizations as Sparkrock, Hub Insurance, Canada Helps, Charity Village, and Carters Law Firm and their role in the not-for-profit sector. 

Our clients, Red Sky Performance, closed the conference with two incredible dance performances, one of which was a vibrant indigenous dance. The show was greatly enjoyed by the Nonprofit Driven attendees.
