At Hogg, Shain & Scheck we understand the practical value of networking and its impact on our profession. Our firm is dedicated to providing frequent opportunities for our accountants to meet and build relationships with key players in the various industries.
Managing for Growth Series
Through our Managing for Growth event series, we host internationally renowned expert speakers that discuss trends in business and the economy. We encourage our team to get involved, attend and interact with attendees and speakers at these events. Some of our past events include: The Branding Highway with Gair Maxwell, Annual Economic Updates with Brian Beaulieu and The Productivity Paradox: See it… Solve it with Phil Kirby.
Dine & Learn
At Hogg, Shain & Scheck we frequently host educational lunches and dinners to help our team develop on both a personal and professional level.
Etiquette Dinner:
At our etiquette dinner, a certified image consultant taught us how to improve our guest and hosting abilities. The event also focused on dining decorum, eating styles, the service code and toasting etiquette. Another focus was on business etiquette such as business card savvy, handshaking, communication skills, eye contact, introductions and how to make an entrance. These events are just a few of the many ways that we demonstrate our firm’s commitment to creative learning opportunities.
Client Dinners:
Senior staff participate in more personalized client dinners with expert speakers in a round table environment. These areas allow business owners to discuss and tackle everyday topics in a peer environment.
Additionally, Hogg, Shain & Scheck partners and staff are members of numerous groups such as the MSI Global Alliance: an association with affiliates from over 250 independent accounting, legal and consulting firms in over 100 countries. Through this partnership our team is able to collaborate with firms throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa to develop best practices and build strong global connections and attend regional conferences.
We are also part of: Chartered Professional Accountants Ontario, Canadian Professional Sales Associates, The Canadian Tax Foundation, The Executive Committee (TEC) Canada, The Markham Board of Trade, The Canadian Association of Gift Planners, The Toronto Region Board of Trade and Turnaround Management Association. Establishing alliances with these groups gives our team further opportunities to build connections and network with professionals across a variety of fields and sectors on a local and global scale.
