Hogg, Shain & Scheck at local Second Harvest Food Bank

Last year, HSS packed 55 shoeboxes full of toys and supplies for children in support of Operations Christmas Child, a global initiative by Samaritan’s Purse.

For this year’s holiday charity event, the firm was able to connect to pursue the opportunity to volunteer at one of HSS new clients, Second Harvest!

Second Harvest’s mandate is to recover nutritious, unsold food before it becomes waste and distribute them to their broad network of 370+ social service organization across the country. In doing so, they reduce food waste but more importantly, provide nourishment to Canadians who are in need through school programs, seniors’ centres, shelters, food banks, and regional food hubs. 

As a firm over 3 days all levels of the HSS team was onsite at Second Harvest to sort and organize food at their North York centre.
